Not me! I'm going to be retiring this blog and creating a brand new one. As with most things in business it's way more work than ever expected but I honestly haven't been this excited to work on project in a long time.
I'm hoping the new blog will be way easier to navigate, interact and give me a chance to share my work with photos and video.
Thanks for your patience and hope to see you back soon.
First off, let me say congratulations on your engagement. This can and will be a very exciting time for couples but now what do you do? You know you need a wedding photographer and you’ve seen my site and you would like to know more.
First, feel free to give me a call or send a message and give me some details about your day. I’ll check to see my availability for your wedding date and then we can setup a date and time to meet.
Then we would have a pre-wedding consultation; this is where we can discuss your plans and what is most important to you on your day. For a lot of couples this can be a little overwhelming so I’ll offer some sound advice so that all the important moments are captured on your day. I’ll also work with you to create a package that will give you adequate coverage and also answer any questions about pricing, albums, digital files and wall portraits for example. If you decide you’d like to become my client, then we’ll go over a contract and with your $500 retainer cheque your wedding date will be secured.
Next, we will set up an engagement session. The engagement session is one of the most important parts of wedding photography. It allows us to "warm up" and it gives us a chance to really get to know each other, and what we can expect from one another on wedding day. This is a really fun session that takes about 1.5 hours.
I will be in contact with you several times between the engagement session and the wedding. Just to make sure everything is going ok. A few weeks before the wedding date, we’ll get together for the last time before the wedding to discuss any last minute plans and just make sure that we’re all on the same page.
On your wedding day I want you to enjoy your day as much as possible and not worry about the photography, let me take care of that. We will already know what to expect from each other from the engagement session and previous meetings and we can just flow together, let the day happen and enjoy ourselves.
If this sounds interesting please let me know and we can set up an appointment to talk more about your plans.
Here are some recent shots of the kids and one of yours truly with my little girl. I really can’t believe how fast they’re growing and it’s even crazier when we compare them both now.
I’d also like to say thanks to everyone that told me how life changes completely when you have two kids...you weren’t kidding. Our schedule is completely out of whack because she’s up every three hours or so but it is what it is. I don’t think I could ever get tired of holding her in my arms.
Having said that I will be making some changes to my schedule and will be shifting gears business wise within the coming months. I will be concentrating my attention more on wedding photography, rather than my portrait work. Over the last couple of years my love for wedding photography has grown so much that it’s all I think about. The amount of fun and creative freedom I get from shooting a wedding is hard to describe. I will still do the odd portrait session but on much more limited basis.
In the meantime, enjoy these and I’ll be sure to post more soon.
Well we finally brought our little girl home after she had a three week stay in the Intensive Care Unit. It seemed forever and it still hasn’t really hit me yet that she’s here but I’m sure that won’t take long. Here are some of my favourite images over the last few weeks.
As you'll see I'm absent from all of these photos as I'm the designated photographer in the family - go figure. Not to worry as I'll post much more in the coming weeks and for sure some with daddy and his little girl.
This past weekend I had the chance to capture Nicole and Melwin’s which took place in Niagara Falls. I had a great time and they’re both so lucky to have such a loving and supportive family.
I started the day at the brides house to capture some getting ready moments and a few portraits. We then headed off to Niagara to Christ Church for a small intimate ceremony. We had originally planned to head to the botanical gardens nearby for some fun time with the bride and groom but Melwin really wanted to get a few photos by the falls and I was more than happy to oblige. Now for those of you that know what it’s like near the falls you’ll know that there’s always a constant mist – ok really strong mist. We both did not want a soggy bride so we jumped out of the limo and literally spent 60 seconds but I think we got some great shots and Nicole was great and managed to dry off. After that we headed to the beautiful Queenston Heights restaurant on the Niagara Parkway for some alone time and then the reception.
I wish you both all the best and here a few favourite images from your day.

Wow what a week! First we had the birth of our daughter and yesterday was our son Jayden’s 3rd birthday. Where does the time go? If anyone knows please let me know!
I absolutely love seeing the look on his face when he gets excited, it reminds me of when I was small and I used to get so excited to open my presents. It’s amazing how the smallest things can make a toddler so happy. I’m not talking about presents and stuff but just seeing his birthday balloons and knowing that his mom would be home from the hospital and that his grandparents would be there. Of course he got lots of presents and a Thomas train track set. We also had lots of pizza, fries, cake and ice cream. We just had to remind him of the fact that he’s not to expect that dinner everyday…just on birthdays.
I know he’s only known her for a few days now but I know he misses his little sister already and he can’t wait to get her home.

This past weekend I had the chance to capture the amazing wedding day of Morgan and Jordan. Both of them always seem to have a smile on and they are so fun to be around because they always seem to be laughing and having a good time.
I knew this wedding would be a blast from the beautiful location of the farm of Morgan’s uncle which has been in the family for five generations to the highly anticipated foot loose dance by Jordan. What I didn’t know was that Jordan’s mom was going to be his dance partner which everyone loved. The outdoor ceremony was amazing and the weather was perfect. After that we headed to a local park for some more fun with the bridal party and the bride and groom but the weather quickly turned on us and cut short our time. In the end it was still a great day filled with all sorts of emotions and laughs and I was honoured to be there to capture it for them.
Here is just a small sample of some of my favourite images from their day.

I can vividly remember the two greatest moments in my life. The first was the birth of our son Jayden and the second happened yesterday morning with the birth of our little girl Alayna.
I know I haven’t posted much of the back-story on my wife’s pregnancy and I think due to the circumstances it was too difficult and stressful to talk about. There are so many thoughts and emotions going on right now and due to the lack of sleep it is difficult to concentrate but I’m not going to complain after what my wife and baby girl had to go through. In short, my wife spent approximately 6-7 weeks in hospital on bed rest orders mostly in Toronto at Women’s College, and the whole time we felt terrified that everything would happen too soon. Recently she was moved to Lakeridge Health and thankfully much closer to home. It was really difficult having her away and tremendously difficult for Jayden being away from his mom. I’m not sure how and probably never will but he eventually seemed to understand the situation and was amazing through the whole thing. Even though my wife isn’t home yet, I know he understands that his mom and baby sister will join us soon.
I couldn’t write about this and not take a moment to thank some very special people. I don’t feel that simply saying thank you is enough but it’s all I can do for now. On behalf of my wife and I, I’d like to say thank you to all of the staff at Women’s College in Toronto. I’d also like to thank the staff at Lakeridge Health that delivered our little miracle and continue to care for her. Lastly I’d like to thank our friends and co-workers for their love and support and especially our parents that helped us and continue to help us get through this. I’m always the type of person that will decline help when offered, and I’d like to think that I could handle almost anything alone. I’ll be the first person to admit here that there is no possible way we could have gotten through this without our parents help and we’ll be forever grateful for that.
Today I held my little girl for the first and she is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my life. I’m still not sure how someone so small and so perfect could have such a hold on a grown man. I feel so bad for her that she has to be hooked up to all of that equipment and it tears at me to see her in the incubator but I’m really looking forward to the day we’ll all be together.
When I first met with Nicole and Melwin they told me that they might need a little help at the session in terms of what to do and where to look etc. I said no problem, just be yourselves. I really didn’t want to take them out of their element and turn them into someone they’re not, and my goal is to always show the connection that they share with each other.
For the engagement session we went to Guild Park in Scarborough which is an awesome location, minus the raging mosquito population. The next time I have a session there I may have to soak the couple in mosquito repellent before we start. Seriously though, Nicole and Melwin were both great and in the end didn’t need my help at all.
Here are a few of my favourite images from the session, enjoy.
I’d like to say thanks to Cara for coming out and modelling for me, and even though she isn’t a pro model (yet) she certainly could be. She’s super laid back and very easy to coach which made my job easier. I also can’t forget to thank Steph for coming out and assisting. Here are a few favourite images, enjoy.
